Festivals and Night Life
With the excitement of this buzzing area comes a caveat - the vibrant little town doesn't always quiet down when the sun sets.
You may experience some noise during your stay, particularly on weekends or during local events/festivals.
These tend to happen mostly in the summer months.
We have tried to insulate the apartment as much as possible and although this is not a problem for the vast majority of guests, it can be more of an issue if you have light sleep or have young children who require absolute silence.
Premises
The apartment is on the first floor, but feel free to use the ground-floor patio at the back. This is also where you can find the laundry room.
Air Conditioning
You are welcome to use the air conditioning, but please keep the doors and windows closed to ensure
it works efficiently.
Before leaving the apartment, kindly switch off the air conditioning to help conserve energy and
protect the environment.
Water
It is generally safe to drink tap water in Madeira. The water supply is subject to quality
controls and meets European Union standards.
However, some people may prefer the taste of bottled water due to differences in mineral content or
the presence of chlorine, which is used in water treatment.
Rubish Disposal
Communal rubish and recycling bins are available near by. These are located at the end of the cobbled street below the apartment. Going out the front door, turn left and then left again it should see the bins 50 meters away.

1 - Taxi
There is a taxi rank outside the airport exit, and it's an approximately 10-minute drive to the
apartment.
You can also use the Bolt app (similar to Uber).
If you prefer to reserve the transfer, just do a google search for “Madeira airport transfers” and contact one of the companies.

3 - Car Park
If you rent a car, you can park free of charge in the Forum Machico car park, which is just across from the apartment (see map below).
The magnetic parking card will be on the coat hanger when you get into the apartment. Once inside the car park, you can can park in any available space.
NOTE: You must pick up the magnetic card before going into the car park. You can make a quick stop near the apartment where there is paid parking.
